Arctic Grayling:
Early spring when the grayling move into the shallow rivers
and streams to spawn. In the summer schools of fish are
found in most of the lakes located in the Southern Lakes.
Lake Trout:
Early spring when the ice is breaking. Lake trout congregate
near the surface. Through the month of June lake trout are
feeding in the shallows before heading to the deeper cooler
water during the summer months. In the fall when the trout
move into the shoals to spawn.
Northern Pike:
In the early spring in the shallow water during spawning.
During the summer & fall pike can be found in shallow,
warm weedy areas of lakes and sloughs.
