Lisa Reed - Wellness Program Director
Born & raised in New Zealand , Lisa has travelled & lived widely around the world, making her home here in the Yukon since 1998.
Lisa is happily married to Mike ,also a "kiwi" & together they have three lovely children Kyle 20 , Nina 16 & Kasey 11. Nuturing the family is very much to the forefront for Lisa, so creating an environment with balance & harmony is paramount to the success of that unit as with other aspects of life.
Lisa has had a lifelong love of horses & has worked with & ridden all manner of horses from the "bold to the not so bold".
In the early years she was an active member of Pony Club in New Zealand often participating in gymkhana's jumping events & hunting hounds. Later she carved a career as an apprentice jockey , in those days a hard life for a woman in this field however, the lifestyle, poor wages & weight maintenance put an end to the fledging jockey. However Lisa continued to train & ride as the horses were her passion, to this day these fast noble horses still thrill her. Lisa attributes al ot of her intuitive abilities to her association with horses.
Horses are a very physical animal , at the same time they are also a very knowing & spiritual animal with an empathy all of their own that blends itself well with people helping them to reconnect with themselves & nature again.
Lisa has a natural empathy to work with people & animals on a wholistic level & firmly believes that given the opportunity every living thing has the intrinsic knowing ability to heal oneself , however often it needs someone else to help facilitate that healing process .
Since 1998 Lisa has studied Reiki in New Zealand & Canada & also Massage Therapy in Dunedin, New Zealand , recently she has done a short course in Quantum Touch Therapy which tends to supercharge the reiki & massage .Until now she have only applied these healing modalities on a casual basis , being tied up with other aspects of life has prevented her from truly following her hearts desire , passions & natural abilities as a healer , mentor & communicator.
As part of my association with Spirit Lake Womens Wellness , Spirit Lake Wilderness Lodge & Hart to hart Equine Learning Center I am proud to offer my knowledge & service to help women unwind , relax , to be reconnected to the earth, the animals, themselves , all the while surrounded by the immense natural beauty that is Spirit Lake.
Sincerely, Lisa Reed
